This is a great opportunity to work with like-minded creatives on a pathway of building your skillset. You'll be working within a workshop setup through inclusive and supportive practices.
We will provide designated guidiance on how to build your CV and how to make yourself appealing to representation. We guide you on setting yourself up on casting sites such as Spotlight & Mandy.
Within the week you'll be given the opportunity to record a monologue and a musical theatre song to build your showreel material. You'll also get given access to headshots to use within your CV.
We will work on spoken and/or sung material with you, looking at vocal and performance options via active analysis and acting through song techniques provided by an industry professional. You'll also get first hand advice on drama school auditions from conservatoire educators. All of this will enhance your confidence and empower you to be in control.
You'll be visited by working industry actors and professional educators that will provide you with a wealth of advice & resilience to thrive within the theatre industry.
You'll have the opportunity to publicly perform your work to local professionals, artists and creatives & receive a recording to be used as materials for your CV/profile.
Rob is an accomplished musical director and conductor, having worked in choral and orchestral settings as well as MD and musical supervisor for a multitude of musical theatre productions. He has been an educator throughout his working life, specialising in higher education, spending nine years as Head of Singing at The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, during which time he also developed and ran a well-respected acting course. He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Rob runs a private singing practice, working with clients from across the
performing arts sector, no matter what their background, experience or
motivation. He believes in empowering and enlightening individuals, working
according to their specific needs in a way that suits them and their unique
vocal set up.
Matt is a neurodiverse (dyslexic) actor, director and producer based in Essex. With twelve years of professional experience he has dedicated his work on the belief that creativity & artistic expression is a catalyst for change. He loves to collaborate, listen and identify needs that can be harnessed within creative settings, from staged productions to community outreach projects locally and nationally. He currently works as a freelancer on dyslexic specialist support for theatre makers & actors and currently direct for commercial theatre, fringe and young company theatre. Matt works as an acting lecturer within various drama schools and holds a Fellowship in Higher Education teaching.
